CASE STUDIES
What is the ultimate goal of design?

A beautiful, simple, user-centered high fidelity product that can easily be iterated upon.

But how do we get there?

A portfolio with scads of glossy images is only worth as much as the journeys that led to each finished design. I have selected some projects to showcase my process.
TaskEasy Enterprise Client Portal
The existing Client Portal was not serving the needs of its users, and our goal was to create a self-service way for them to add properties to their online portfolios, order service, track the quality of service, and manage billing and payment methods.
Where We Started
This was the existing dashboard when I began the overhaul.

Job Stories
Job stories are an effective way to identify features and journeys. I gathered these from zoom meetings and in-person meetings.
Whiteboard Sketches
Once the first inchoate scribbles and doodles were added to the whiteboard, I invited people from both the product team and across the company to help me iterate.

Mid-Fidelity Wireframes
Every project calls for slightly different solutions. That is one of the things I love most about my work.

In this instance, we were able to make sufficient progress on the white board collaborations to move to mid-fidelity wireframes. We then tested these through interactive prototyping and identified some needed changes.
High Fidelity Results

Family Search "Person Tour" Workflow
Family Search helps their users find and connect to ancestors and relatives.
They wanted to implement some features to help with new user retention.

Storyboard
The problem that needed solving during this project was a lack of return visits by new/inexperienced users. There was a huge amount of data and research that had been done already, I just needed to sift through it and make sense of it.

The most helpful pieces of research were audio and video interviews. I was able to identify a pattern of pains and challenges faced by new users and begin to tell a story to address them.
